Armed Forces Stamp Exchange Club

Open to Everyone

Dear Collector,

Over twenty years ago, we opened our membership (at the request of our members), to all Stamp Collectors. AFSEC has evolved into a fraternal organization where many of our members stay on even after they have stopped collecting.

AFSEC offers an Exchange Circuit with quality world wide stamps which may also include high value and hard to find items for some countries in the exchange. In addition, we have a quarterly Auction filled with items from many countries. We generally sell over 40 percent of these items every auction.

For membership in AFSEC please click on the application membership link located on the menu above. The membership application will open in an Adobe PDF file. From the opened AFSEC membership application select print. You must also furnish a verified reference such as a membership number from another stamp organization showing that your membership is in good standing. In lieu of another stamp organization you can also be personally sponsored by another AFSEC member in which you would include the AFSEC sponsor’s name and membership number. If you have never joined a national organization before, AFSEC is a great place to start. Please furnish a personal family reference of at least one friend or other family member if you have no other references. The AFSEC council will approve all members after thirty days with no objections by any member of the AFSEC council. We verify all references.

There are no dues increases for 2022.

AUCTION:  George Land is accepting auction materials. See new Auction rules! To save postage costs, only lots weighing 4 oz. or less each will be shipped to the auctioneer. Larger lots will be retained by the seller and drop shipped upon sale.

Please carefully read the new auction “NOTE TO SELLERS” on our FAQ page using the link above before submitting auction lots. The AUCTION information and rules can viewed from that page in an Adobe PDF

EXCHANGE CIRCUIT: This circuit, (since it was the basis for forming the club), is one of the main functions of the Club. The exchange circuit's objective is to provide our members, a means to exchange stamps with other members, without having to correspond with each other individually. This is accomplished by using a system of letter sized forms where up to thirty six stamps or lots of stamps can be mounted. The exchange manager, records the total catalog value of sheets entered and credits the member's account.  In turn, once sufficient credit has been accrued, the member receives a selection from other members. The member then selects stamps, places their membership number in the vacated space, and does the accounting in the space provided, on the sheet (even if no stamps were taken); finally, he/she returns the selection to the manager who debits the member's trading credit.  The only costs to the exchange member are postage, and a 10 percent (catalog value) deduction from each of the sellers entries (for insurance and exchange operating costs). Please read the Exchange manager’s page for more details.

Please note that the exchange is not intended as a place to dump low value duplicate stamps and pull high value items for your collection, this type of activity is discouraged by the exchange manager. We also do not accept; damaged, spurious, faulty and undesirable stamps in our stock. These items will be returned to the member at the exchange managers discretion and the fee deducted for postage costs to return these items. We run a quality exchange with quality stamps.

Members of the Exchange are encouraged to post questions and special items you are looking for by email to the exchange manager. The exchange manager will furnish a welcome packet after your deposit and stamps exchange sheets are received. All exchange correspondence is saved in your member exchange file including your country interest sheets.
